A Simplified Guide to BHS: Critical Apparatus, Masora, Accents, Unusual Letters and Other Markings. It is now available from the same publisher in a smaller, more durable format. An explanation of the symbols and Latin abbreviations may be found in Scott (1987) or Wonneberger (1990). The proposed emendations found in the apparatus are often arbitrary and so should be treated with some caution.
